Occasionally, freelance interpreters will mentor an ITP (Interpreter Training Program) student. These student interns will accompany the fully-licensed interpreter on the appointment to observe and/or to perform interpreting services under the strict supervision of the licensed interpreter. Upon arrival, the licensed interpreter will ask all parties if mentee can be present. The Deaf consumers will have the right to refuse student-intern presence.
