SIGN LANGUAGE INTERPRETING FOR EVENTS

Our founders, Ben Daniel and Cody Simonsen, both drew upon first-hand experiences
when establishing 5 Star Interpreting with one goal in mind: communication access for all.

Professional ASL interpreters

Do you have Deaf attendees at your event? Finding an ASL interpreter for events can be difficult and unpredictable, with the quality of interpreters varying across the board. If you’re a meeting planner, disability or accessibilities coordinator, you’ll need to consider compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and may have concerns about scheduling for multiple Deaf attendees.

CHOOSE 5 STAR INTERPRETING FOR YOUR EVENT

5 Star Interpreting can eliminate all of your worries, by referring superior ASL interpreting you can always count on. 5 Star Interpreting knows the ins and outs of the ADA and has a streamlined process to match your event with the right interpreter or team of interpreters. Our experienced staff is prepared to coordinate interpreting services for all types of events, such as:

Whether you need a sign language interpreter for a full day or just a few hours, 5 Star Interpreting is ready to deliver affordable, cost-effective event interpreting services that will always leave you and your deaf audience happy with the level of communication provided. The interpreters we refer you to are highly trained to not just convey what is spoken, but also interpret what the speakers mean.

EXPERIENCED INTERPRETERS FOR ANY OCCASION

Additionally, we ensure that all interpreters adhere to the ADA “Effective Communication” standards, which means their interpreted work is performed:

Our pool of professional interpreters have thousands of hours of training. They’re ready to translate in a variety of circumstances and think quickly when the dynamics of a situation change. We match the interpreters with the industry and environment they’ll be placed in on the job.

RUN BY THE DEAF COMMUNITY, FOR THE DEAF COMMUNITY

Because 5 Star Interpreting is run by members of the Deaf community, we understand unique needs and situations that may arise during interpreting events. Our staff is selected through a comprehensive process to ensure all of our team members have the right skill level for the job and can coordinate the right interpreter for your needs.

We strive to bridge the gap between the speakers or performers at your event and the Deaf community. We allow the Deaf community to have more say in the process, so they feel valued and able to communicate in the way that best fits their situation.

5 Star Interpreting has been the primary provider of American Sign Language - English interpretation for The Sundance Film Festival for the past two years. Their services have been absolutely top notch. The coordination of an exhibition to this scale was eased knowing that 5 Star would take the care to understand our event spaces, screenings, content, clients, etc. to consider the right interpreter for the job. We're proud to work with a Utah local Deaf/CODA owned business that utilizes both the consumer and interpreter perspective throughout all aspects of their operations. Extra big shoutout/referral for Nathan Suitter, who's skill and professionalism has made him our interpreter of choice. Smiles.

Our agency had a client who requested an ASL interpreter for a meeting so I reached out to 5 Star Interpreting. They were very quick to respond, easy to schedule with and their prices are great. The interpreter they sent was professional and friendly and it was a great experience. We will be using them again.

I work in Texas and had to plan to get ASL interpreters on-site for a Utah-based event this year, although I've never worked with ASL interpreters before. Cody and his team at 5 Star were an absolute pleasure to work with. Highly responsive, quick to help out and explain the different nuances of ASL to a non-signer (without making me feel like an idiot), and extremely professional and helpful. They thought of everything: from their travel, to the interpreter's on-site meals, to their attire, and even convenience of payment after the event. I would highly recommend them if you're looking for a team that will work seamlessly with your event and provide a high-quality interpreting experience with a low-hassle and clearly communicated set-up.
